Chinese Foreign Trade for Jan-November Rises 8.6% YoY

China’s foreign trade levels have continued to grow in 2022 despite the adverse impacts of a renewed round of Covid lockdowns in the first half, and the challenges created by ongoing implementation of a zero Covid policy.

The total value of Chinese imports and exports for the period from January to November was 38.34 trillion yuan, for year-on-year (YoY) growth of 8.6%, according to figures released by the General Administration of Customs (GAC) on 7 December.

Total exports stood at 21.84 trillion yuan, for YoY growth of 11.9%, while total imports were 16.5%, for YoY growth of 4.6%.

GAC highlighted especially fast growth in Chinese electrical goods and clean energy products during the period.
